Cheesy Macaroni Chicken Bake

Today’s recipe just happens to be a new keeper recipe. I wanted to put a twist on Macaroni and Cheese by adding some chicken and making it a recipe you bake and it turned out fabulous (actually better than I could have imagined!) The combination of pasta, cheese, chicken and panko is delicious. The best part of all? The recipe is so simple making it another Quick and Easy dinner idea to add to the meal planner. Ingredients
- 2 Boxes Horizon Organic Classic Mac Boxes (plus ingredients on back – 1/2 cup Horizon Organic milk, 4 TB Horizon Organic unsalted butter) – NOTE: I used Pasta Shells & White Cheddar Cheese
- 1 large chicken breast (cooked and chopped in small pieces) – optional
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup Horizon Organic cheddar cheese
- Panko

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 400.
2. Begin by preparing macaroni as directed on back of the box, but doubling for the two boxes of Macaroni.
3. Once macaroni is made, add your chicken, salt/pepper, sour cream and cheddar cheese to your pot. Mix well.
4. Dish into a greased 9×13 pan.
5. Sprinkle with additional 1/2 cup cheddar cheese and sprinkle with Panko.
6. Bake at 400 for 10-12 minutes.
7. Broil for an additional 2-3 minutes to brown panko.
Serve warm.
