Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar minus 1 Tbsp
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 3/4 cup minus 1 Tbsp flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt, optional
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Blend together the peanut butter, sugar and 1 beaten egg. Press the mix with fingers into a 9 in square baking pan.

Beat the remaining 2 eggs slightly and beat in the sugar.

Add the butter and chocolate, combining thoroughly. Stir in the flour and salt, if used and finally the vanilla.

Pour batter over peanut butter layer.

Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until a wooden pick comes out clean. The edges of the browines will pull away from the pan slightly when done.

Cool in the pan. Cut into 16 or 32 brownies.
