Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 8 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs + buttermilk to equal 2 cups
- 9 oz. box of raisins or mix 1/2 raisins/currants &(1 tbsp. caraway seeds optional)

Preparation
Step 1
1.Sift dry ingredients into a bowl.
2.Add raisins and seeds.
3.Beat eggs in a 2 cup measuring cup and add buttermilk to equal 2 cups.
4.Make a well in the center of dry ingredients and pour in milk and egg mixture.Mix with a spoon, batter will be sticky.
5.Turn out onto floured board and knead a few times.
6.Place on a greased skillet (cast iron) and shape into a ball. Use a knife to make a cross cut on top.
7.Sprinkle with sugar.
8.Bake at 350 for 45-60 min until golden brown.
9.Remove from oven and place on cooling rack, cover with towel.
10.Cut when cool.
