Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 cups hot water
- 3 egg yolks
- juice of 2 lemons
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 9" pie shell, baked

Preparation
Step 1
Put sugar and cornstarch in medium saucepan. Stir to mix. Stir in water and egg yolks. Stir over medium heat until it boils. Boil about 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Stir in lemon juice, butter and salt. Cool.
Spoon filling into cooled pie shell.
Pile meringue onto filling being sure to seal well to pastry shell all around. Bake near top of 350F oven about 10 to 15 minutes until browned.
