Ingredients

  • Glaze:
  • 1 corned beef brisket
  • 1 medium onion, large chop
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 2 teaspoons prepared horseradish

Preparation

Step 1

Place corned beef in a large pot and cover with water. Add onion. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 3 hours.

Place meat on a jelly roll pan and set aside.

In a small saucepan, melt butter and add remaining ingredients. Cook and stir until sugar is disolved. Brush over the beef.

Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, basting after about 15 minutes. Let stand for a least 10 minutes before slicing.

Use additional glaze at the table, if desired.
