  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups vanilla wafers, crushed
  • 2 TB cocoa powder, unsweetened, sifted
  • 1 cup hazelnuts, chopped
  • 3 TB light corn syrup
  • 1/4 Amaretto liqueur

Preparation

Step 1

Spread 1 cup powdered sugar on a piece of waxed paper. Set aside.

In a large bowl combine remaining 1 cup sugar, wafer crumbs, cocoa powder, and nuts. Stir in corn syrup and Amaretto. Knead until mixture holds together. Roll, one tablespoon at a time, into balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar to coat. Place in paper candy cups. May refrigerate several days for flavors to mellow. To serve, re-roll in powdered sugar.
