Ingredients

  • 1 cup room temp butter
  • 8 0z unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 1/2 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 extra large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts.

Preparation

Step 1

Grease 10 x 15 jelly roll pan.

Over simmering water in a double boiler, melt butter and chocolate.
Stir in instant coffee until dissolved. Stir in vanilla. Cool to lukewarm.

Beat eggs in a large bowl with electric mixer until fluffy. Add salt. Gradually add sugar, continue beating until mixture is very thick and forms a ribbon. On lowest spead of mixer quickly add chocolate mixture.

Add flour, and nuts (optional) mixing just to combine after each additon. Spread evently in greased pan.

Bake in 350 oven 25-30 mins. until brownies are set and crusty on top. Cool in pan. Makes about 40 brownies.
