  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups PLAIN flour
  • 1/2 cup CHOPPED walnuts
  • confectioners sugar

Step 1


CREAM BUTTER TO SOFTEN. CREAM BUTTER, SUGAR, SHORTNING.
MIX IN WATER AND VANILLA, AND THEN FLOUR AND NUTS. CHILL 3 OR 4 HOURS.
FORM DOUGH IN LONG ROLLS, 1/2 INCH ACROSS. CUT IN 3 INCH LENGHTS AND SHAPE IN CRESCENTS.
BAKE ON UNGREASED COOKIE SHEET IN SLOW OVEN (325 DEGREES) FOR 15 MINUTES. DO NOT BROWN.
REMOVE FROM SHEET, COOL SLIGHTLY, DIP IN CONFECTIONERS SUGAR.
