Ingredients
- 2 c. whole wheat flour
- 2 c. white flour
- 2 c. buttermilk
- 1 bit less than 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a casserole dish. Mix all ingredients in a mixing bowl, except the milk. Make a well in the mixture and add milk. Mix into a stiff dough. Shape into a ball. Place in greased casserole pan. With a sharp knife slash center 4-inch across and 1/4-inch deep. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes. Makes 1 loaf. It's great for St. Patrick's Day. You can make it green by adding a small amount of food coloring. I've never tried this in a bread maker.
