Milky Way Brownies
By srumbel
These brownies are quite simply amazing!! My husband actually cut into and stole a brownie before I frosted them *tsk, tsk…. and I told him that they weren’t done yet because I was going to frost them. He said that they taste great without frosting. Well, I frosted them, garnished them with the candy and offered him another piece and of course he said, “Ahhh, yes!! They were good before they were frosted, but with the frosting they are amazing!!

Preparation
Step 1
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Place foil in a 9x13 inch pan and spray with baking spray.
Place butter in a medium microwavable bowl and microwave until melted.
With a large whisk, slowly whisk chocolate into melted butter until fully melted. (If necessary, place bowl back in microwave for 30 seconds)
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, and sugar. Add the chocolate mixture, salt and vanilla and whisk until blended. Finally, add the flour in two additions, whisking until fully incorporated. Stir in the Milky Way pieces.
Pour mixture into prepared pan and spread evenly, trying to get all Milky Way pieces evenly dispersed.
Place in the oven for 35-42 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out fairly clean.
Remove form oven and allow to fully cool and rest before frosting.
Meanwhile, make the frosting by melting the butter in a medium saucepan on the stovetop. Using a whisk, stir in the cocoa and milk and continue stirring until the mixture comes to a boil. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla, and the powdered sugar, a cup at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
Spread the frosting on top of the cooled brownies. Add the Milky Way pieces to the top of the brownies with some showing the chocolate side and some showing the caramel/nougat side.
Allow the brownies to rest until the frosting is fully cooled and then slice into 24 bars
