Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yeast
  • 1/4 c warm water
  • 1 cup cottage cheese (heated to lukewarm)
  • 2 Tbl sugar
  • 1 Tbl instant minced onion
  • 2 teaspoon dill seeds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon soda
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 Tbl butter

Preparation

Step 1

Soften yeast in the warm water
In a mixing bowl, combine
Cottage cheese
Sugar
Onion
Butter
Dill seed
Salt
Soda
Egg
Softened yeast
Add flour in portions (use mixer on low speed for first addition)
Add flour to form a stiff dough, beating after each addition
Cover and let it rise in warm area(85-90 degrees) until light & double in bulk- 50 to 60 minutes
Stir down the dough
Turn into well greased 8 in roundcasserole
Let rise in warming place until light- 30to 40 minutes
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes until golden brown
Brush with butter & sprinkle with salt
