Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 egg
- 3 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour*
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Additional sugar

Preparation
Step 1
1. Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat sugar, sour cream, butter, shortening, molasses and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt.
2. Onto ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart.
3. Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until almost no indentation remains when touched in center. Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling racks. Sprinkle with additional sugar while warm.
