- 4 medium sized turnips, peeled,
- and cut into thin strips
- boiling water to cover
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 Tablespoon sour cream
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- freshly-ground black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons chopped parsley

Step 1
Place the turnips in a pot, cover the turnips with the boiling water, and add the sugar. Cook on high heat until turnips are tender, about 8-10 minutes. Drain turnips in a colander, and return to pot. Add the sour cream, butter, and pepper to taste. Mash the turnip mixture. Garnish with parsley.
