  • 1 bowl of hummus
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 3 chopped green onions
  • 2/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • pita crisps

Step 1

To the bowl of prepared hummus, add the chili powder, chopped green onions, feta, and cilantro. In a chafing dish or fondue-pot, heat the olive oil, then add the hummus mixture. Stir until the mixture is hot and bubbly, about 5-10 minutes. Mixture can also be microwaved, although it will cool off quickly after arriving at the dining table. Serve with pita crisps.

To make your own pita crisps, preheat oven to 450 degrees, raising the oven rack closer to the top of the oven. Cut pita halves into triangles and split each triangle in half, laying the pita pieces cut sides up on a baking sheet. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup olive oil with herbs of your choice, for instance, thyme and oregano. Brush the olive oil onto the pita pieces, and then sprinkle lightly with fine sea salt. Bake a few minutes, until light golden brown.
