German Chocolate Upside-Down Cake

This delicious cake recipe was given to me from a childhood neighbor over 30 years ago. Brings back lot of memories..

Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 box German Chocolate cake mix plus ingredients to prepare (I used Betty Crocker)
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 3 cups confectioners powdered sugar

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 F. Lightly spray a 13x9 baking pan with cooking spray. Combine the pecans and coconut; then sprinkle the mixture evenly in the bottom of the pan.
In a mixing bowl and using a hand mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy. Beat in 1 cup of the confectioners sugar at a time until all of it has been added. Set aside.
Prepare cake mix batter as directed on package. Pour batter over the pecans and coconut in the pan.
Dollop the cream cheese mixture over the top of the cake batter.
Bake for 40-45 minutes or until it tests done with a toothpick inserted in the center.
Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. To serve, cut into squares then flip the pieces over so that the pecan mixture is on top.
