Simple Strawberry Sauce

By

Believe it or not, it’s strawberry season here in central Florida and strawberries are everywhere! So, in honor of these juicy red beauties I’m sharing our Simple Strawberry Sauce. It’s a delicious topping for pancakes, waffles, vanilla ice cream, cheesecake or whatever you love to put strawberries on! The reason we think this strawberry sauce is so awesome is because it’s not too sweet, it’s easy to make and bursting with fresh strawberry flavor!

Put the sliced strawberries in a medium saucepan and pour the sugar over them.
Stir the cornstarch and water until the cornstarch is dissolved, then pour it over the strawberries and sugar. Mix all ingredients together and cook over medium heat until it comes to a simmer, stirring gently.
Reduce heat but keep the sauce simmering. Cook approximately 5 – 7 minutes, or until the sauce is thickened, stirring often.
