Preparation

Step 1

Sprinkle half the sugar on clean work surface. Place dough on top, and sprinkle with rest of sugar.
Roll out dough to a 17x13 inch rectangle, about 1/8 inch thick. Trim edges.
Roll up one side as tightly as possible, stopping in the middle. Roll opposite side to meet in the middle. Wrap in plastic and freeze 15 minutes.
Cut dough crosswise into 1/2 inch thick slices. Place on baking sheets, and flatten with palm of hand. Cover with plastic wrap, chill for 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Bake for 5 minutes, reduce temp to 350 degrees. Flip over, bake 10 more minutes until caramelized. Let cool on rack.
