Ingredients
- 2 medium onions chopped
- 1 teaspoon olive oil or non-stick spray
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 32 ounces tomatoes, canned no salt
- 12 ounces tomato paste no salt
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoons oregano leaves dried
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sugar

Preparation
Step 1
In a deep saucepan, cook onion in oil or non-stick spray until soft.
Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 to 3 hours.
Taste after 1 1/2 hours and adjust seasoning.
Sauteed mushrooms are a great addition.
