Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) chilled butter, cut in pieces
  • 1/4-1/2 cup ice water

Preparation

Step 1

Place flour, salt and sugar in food processor. Process for a few seconds to combine.
Add butter pieces, process until mixture becomes coarse and crumbly, 10 seconds.
Add ice water in slow, steady stream, just until the dough comes together.
Turn dough out onto work surface. Divide into 2 pieces, flatten and form into 2 disks. Wrap in parchment. Chill at least 1 hour.
