Ingredients

  • Vanilla Frosting:
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 1/3 c. brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. pecans (chopped)
  • 1 c. finely chopped, unpeeled apple
  • 1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 T. milk
  • 1 T. margarine, melted
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Step 1

Cream shortening; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add egg and milk; combine flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg then add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Stir in raisins, pecans and apple. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 1 1/2-inch apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool and frost.
FROSTING: Combine all and beat until smooth.
