Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups bread cubes
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

In a 1 1/2 quart size casserole, combine bread cubes and raisins. Sprinkle with salt.

Beat together eggs and milk. Blend in molasses.

Stir, with fork, into bread mixture. Dot with butter.

Combine sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle evenly over top.

Bake at 350 deg. for 30 - 35 minutes.

For Molasses Rice Pudding, substitute 1 1/2 cups cooked rice for bread cubes.

If desired, mixture may be baked in 6 custard cups. Baking time will be about 20 minutes.
