Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 3 c. sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 3 c. all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract 1 2/3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter & shortening.
Slowly add sugar, beating
until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg.

In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.

Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.

Pour batter into a greased & floured 10-inch tube pan or bundt pan.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until cake is done
or until a toothpick when inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.

Cool in pan for 10 minutes. Remove from pan, and transfer to a wire rack to continue cooling.
