Preparation
Step 1
Sauce:
Mix tomato paste and tomato sauce in pan. Add 3 paste cans of water and 1 sauce can of water. Add a pinch of basil, a crushed garlic clove, salt and pepper. Add pork and drippings from meatballs into the simmering sauce. Remove the meat before serving the sauce. Simmer sauce at least 2 hours, the longer the better on low so it cooks down.
Meatballs:
Mix ingredients and make rounded meatballs with hands. Brown the meatballs and some kind of pork in oil and garlic clove. Place meat in sauce and pour drippings, without the garlic clove, into the sauce. Simmer at least 2 hours.
***Poppy DiSanto states that the meat is what makes good sauce and you must brown it and add the drippings. He doesn't like a ot of added ingredients in his sauce.
