Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey (85% or 93% lean)
  • 1/4 cup grated onion (about 1 small onion)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbs copped Italian parsley (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well using your hands, until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Using a cookie scoop, roll the meat mixture into 1 1/4 inch balls and place on a tray or cookie sheet.

You can either bake the meatballs in a preheated 400 degree oven for 15 minutes OR you can fry the meatballs in 2 TBS of olive oil until browned (about 3 or 4 minutes per side).

Put cooked meatballs in tomato sauce and let simmer for another 10 minutes.

NOTE: if you fry the meatballs, remove them from the frying pan, then add the tomato sauce to the same pan to take advantage of the drippings.
