Ingredients
- 6 egg yolks
- 1/3 c sugar
- 1 1/2 c warm milk
- 1/2 c warm heavy cream (optional if you do not want to use cream you can use milk)

Preparation
Step 1
1. To 6 egg yolks add 1/3 c of sugar and whisk until the color becomes a pale yellow.
2. After it has become a pale yellow color whisk in the warm milk and warm heavy cream.
3. Now put this on a double boiler to cook the custard - at a whole vanilla bean to give your custard flavor and contrast.
4. On the double boiler stir the custard constantly for at least 15 minutes.
5. The custard will start to thicken - to test if the custard is done on the back of the spatula the trace made should stay clear.
6. Serve warm or cold with fruit.
