Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 3 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • 3 tart apples, peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • 1 loaf Italian or French, 1” slices
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • 1 TBS vanilla extract

Step 1


1.Combine brown sugar, butter and 1 tsp cinnamon in a 13x9” baking dish

2.Add apples and cranberries, toss to coat well

3. Spread apple mixture evenly over bottom of baking dish

4. Arrange bread on top (I use the cinnamon raisin loaf from St. Louis Bread Co)

5. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and remaining 2 tsps cinnamon until well blended

6. Pour mixture over bread, soaking bread completely

7. Cover and refrigerate 4 to 24 hours

8. Bake, covered w/ aluminum foil, in a preheated 375 degree oven for 40 minutes

9. Remove from oven, let stand 5”, serve warm.
