  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 c. chopped dates
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. oleo

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13-inch pan. Mix together the brown and white sugars, baking powder, nuts, dates and milk. (This will look very lumby, it is fine.) Spread in pan. On top of stove, mix brown sugar, 3 cups boiling water and oleo. (This is from the 2nd group of ingredients.) Boil for 3 minutes and put on top before baking. Bake 1 hour. This is very rich, but is even better with a little whipped cream.
