Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

• 2/3 C Shortening
• 2/3 C Butter, softened
• 1 C Sugar
• 1 C Brown Sugar
• 2 Eggs
• 2 tsp Vanilla
• 3 C All-Purpose Flour
• 1 tsp Baking Soda
• 1 C Chopped Nuts (optional)
• 2 pkgs 6 oz Semisweet Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven 375 degrees. Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla. stir in remaining ingredients. (For softer, rounder cookie, add 1/2c more flour.)

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2" apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
