  • Cake:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 TB plus 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup skim milk
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • Pudding:
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Spray 13x9 pan with Pam.

In a large bowl, add dry cake ingredients. Whisk in the rest of the cake ingredients, blending thoroughly. Pour into baking pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together pudding ingredients until dissolved. Pour over the batter. Pudding will be thin and runny.

Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is firm to the touch. Let rest for 15 minutes before cutting. To serve slice cake and top with sauce. Each serving is 152 calories.

Cover and refrigerate for 7 days or freeze for 2 months.
