Ingredients

  • Meat Loaf:
  • 3 lbs lean ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 2 t. ketchup
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 T. salt
  • 1 t. black pepper
  • 8 T. vinegar
  • 8 T. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 2 c. ketchup
  • 4 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • ●Mix bread crumbs, eggs and milk; let stand until bread crumbs are soaked. Stir in salt, pepper, 2 T. ketchup and 2 onions; mix well.
  • ●Add ground beef and mix thorought but lightly. Shape into one large loaf or 2 small loaves.
  • ●Bake at 325 F for about 30 minutes.
  • Sauce:
  • ●While meat loaf is baking, combine vinegar, grown sugar, 1/2 c. chopped onion, 2 c. ketchup and Worcestershire sauce in saucepan. Bring to boil; lower heat and simmer for a few minutes; set aside.
  • ●After 30 minutes, remove meat loaf from oven and pour off collected grease. Pour sauce over loaf and continue baking for approximately one hour.
