  • French toast:

  • French bread, large slices, thickly cut

  • 3

    cups heavy cream

  • 1

    cup orange juice

  • 4

    eggs

  • 4

    tbsp Grand Marnier

  • 4

    tbsp sugar

  • 2

    tbsp orange zest

  • Melted butter

  • Powdered sugar

  • Orange butter:

  • 6

    ounces butter

  • Juice of 1 orange

  • 1/2

    cup powdered sugar

  • Zest of 1 orange

  • 1

    tbsp Grand Marnier

  • Mint leaves for garnish

Directions

Put 12-16 pieces of bread in large rectangle baking dish. Mix cream, orange juice, eggs, Grand Marnier, sugar, and orange zest and pour over bread. Put in refrigerator for several hours. Turn over and soak 8-10 hours or overnight. When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush cookie tins generously with melted butter. Lay pieces of bread onto buttered pans. Brush tops with melted butter. Bake about 45 minutes to an hour. Turn halfway through the cooking process. Remove from pans to plates and sprinkle with powdered sugar. For orange butter, soften butter. Add remaining ingredients. Mix and form into ball or mold. Garnish with mint leaves and serve with french toast.
