Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 2-3 Tbsp anise flavor
  • 6 cups flour
  • 3 Tbsp baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, and anise. Mix well. Add the flour and baking powder.

Turn on floured board and knead until smooth, adding more flour if sticky.

Take small amounts of dough and roll into strips. Twist and turn into your own creations.

Bake at 400 degrees for 13 to 18 minutes. Bottom of cookies should be lightly brown.

Cool completely before glazing.

To glaze cookies:
Mix confectionary sugar with milk until you get a smooth consistency. Dip cookies in glaze, place on parchment paper, and top with sprinkles or other candies. Let dry completely before storing.
