Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c flour
  • 1/2 c cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 c butter, softened
  • 2 c sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1/2 c milk
  • 1 bottle (1 oz) McCormick red food color
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • Cream cheese frosting

Preparation

Step 1

Mix flour, cocoa, soda and salt, set aside

Beat butter and sugar with electric mixer, on med, speed for 5 min. Until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Mix in sour cream, milk, food color and vanilla. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed. Spoon into paper lined muffin cups, filling each 2/3 full

Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 min. Cool completely the frost

Vanilla cream cheese frosting:
Beat 1 pkg (8oz) softened cream cheese, 4 T softened butter, 2 T sour cream and 2 tsp. vanilla until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in 16 ox 10x sugar until smooth.
