Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 5 large cans of Hunts pasta sauce and
  • 1 can of tomato paste
  • 2 pounds ground beef (deer or turkey)
  • 3 tablespoons of parsley
  • 3 tablespoons oregano
  • salt, pepper and crushed garlic to taste
  • 1 lb. lasagna noodles
  • 3 lbs. shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Large container of ricotta cheese
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • 1 tsp oregano

Preparation

Step 1

Sauce:
Brown meat and put it in the crock pot with the cans of sauce. Add 3tablesppons of parsley, oregano, salt, pepper and crushed garlic. Cook it on low in the crock pot for 6 hours or high for 4 hours.

Boil noodles until they are soft but not mushy.

Put the ricotta cheese in a big bowl and mix in about 1/2 pound of the mozzarella cheese, 1 tsp of parsley and oregano till it is pasty.

In a lasagna pan in the bottom put a ladle full of sauce and spread it out. Just enough to cover the bottom of the pan. Then put a layer of noodles on top just over lapping the very edges. Then put about 4 good blobs of the cheese mixture on top of the noodles. Put a big ladle full of sauce on each blob and spread it evenly. Putting the hot sauce on the cheese enables you to make an even layer of sauce and cheese. Once spread sprinkle some a thin layer of Mozzetta on top of the mixture. The repeat with the noodles, etc. depending on your size pan you can get three or four layers. On the top cover with shredded mozzarella and sprinkle a little parsley for looks.

Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and beginning to brown.
