Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup buttermilk (or 1 Tbsp lemon juice in 1 cup of regular milk)
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- SAUCE
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3 Tbsp water
- 2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation
Step 1
Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in buttermilk. Mix dry ingredients and slowly incorporate into liquid mixture.
Pour batter into a greased and floured bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees for 55-70 minutes. (40-45 minutes in a convection oven)
SAUCE
Melt the sugar, butter and water in a small sauce pan. (I let mine come to a boil for a couple of minutes). Remove from heat and add the vanilla.
When the cake is done, poke holes in the bottom of the cake and pour ½ of the butter sauce over the cake and into the holes. Wait for 5 minutes, then turn the cake out and baste with the remaining sauce.
