Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 T. dried parsley flakes, divided
  • 1 T. dried basil
  • 3 1/2 tsp. salt, divided
  • 1 1 lb. can tomatoes, diced, with seasonings
  • 2 6 oz. cans tomato paste
  • 3 C. cream style cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 C. parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb. mozerella cheese, sliced
  • 8 lasagna noodles

Preparation

Step 1

1. Boil lasagna noodles for at least 5 minutes.

2. Brown meat. Drain excess fat. Add garlic and 1 tsp. parsley, basil, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, tomatoes and tomato paste. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes. Stir occassionally.

3. Combine cottage cheese, eggs, 2 2/3 T. parsley flakes, 2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. pepper, and parmesan cheese.

4. Place half of the cooked noodles in a 13 x 9 x 2 glass baking dish. Spread half the cottage cheese mixture over noodles. Add half the mozarella cheese and half the meat sauce. Repeat the layers with remaining ingredients.

5. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes covered. Let stand for 10-15 minutes before cutting into squares to serve.
