Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg (or 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg)
- 2 tablespoons dark spiced rum (80 to 100 proof)
- 2 bananas
- 2 scoops vanilla ice cream

Preparation
Step 1
Peel the bananas, then cut them in half crosswise and lengthwise.
In a medium skillet, heat 1 tablespoon butter, ¼ cup brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg (or ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg), and 2 tablespoons rum over medium-low. Cook, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes, until bubbly and thickened.
Add the bananas and cook, turning the bananas to evenly coat with the sauce, for about 2 minutes until the bananas are warm.
To serve, place the bananas in a dish and top with vanilla ice cream. Pour over the remaining sauce and serve warm.
