Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup milk or buttermilk

Step 1

Sift flour & salt together into mixing bowl. Make a well in the center of flour. Add 2 eggs and 1 cup milk. Mix gradually and then beat thoroughly until batter is smooth. Continue beating to get more air into mixture for about 5 minutes.
When roast beef is done, remove to platter and keep warm. Pour off most of the fat from roasting pan. Pour batter into pan and bake at 400 degrees until done (about 40 minutes)
