- 1 lb. sugar

Step 1
Combine the water and sugar in a heavy-bottomed saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Wash down the side of the pan with a pastry brush dipped in cold water; boil for 2 min. Remove from the heat and cool. Store in the frig.
