Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 C + 2 TBS unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 2 C minus 2 TBS sugar (measure 2 C and remove 2 TBS before adding to mixture)
  • 3/4 C cocoa (I use Hershey's Cocoa)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 C milk
  • 1/2 C vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 C boiling water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine dry ingredients in large mixer bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour into greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 365 deg. F for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester(toothpick)inserted in center comes out clean. Cool before frosting.

Frost with favorite frosting.
