Ingredients

  • For sugar coating:
  • 3/4 c butter, softened
  • 1 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 c flour
  • 4 1/2 teas baking powder
  • 1/2 teas salt
  • 1/2 teas nutmeg
  • 1 c milk
  • 1/4 c butter, melted
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1/4 teas cinnamon
  • If you don't want sugar coating, you can frost them.

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350. Lightly coat doughnut pan with spray or cooking oil.
Just like a regular cake recipe, cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until well incorporated. Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Slowly add to the sugar mixture. Continue mixing on low speed and add the milk. Scoop the batter into you doughnut pan and bake for 12-15 minutes. You dough should be even with the top of the pan or they will get to high when they rise and you will lose the whole in the middle.
