Peppermint Candy Cookies

Ingredients
- 1 c butter, softened
- 1 c sifted powdered sugar
- 1 T milk
- 1 t vanilla
- 2 1/2 c all-purp flour
- 1/2 c chopped pecans
- 1/2 c finely crushed striped round peppermint candies
- 1 3 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened

Preparation
Step 1
1. In mixing bowl, beat butter with electric mixer 30 sec. Beat in 1/2 c of powdered sugar, milk and vanilla.
2. Beat in as much flour as you can. Stir in remaining flour and nuts by hand.
3. For filling: In bowl, mix remaining 1/2 c powdered sugar and the candy.
4. In a bowl, combine cream cheese and 3 T of the candy mixture. (Set remaining candy mixture aside.)
5. Shape into 1 1/2 in balls. Make an indentation in the center of each. Spoon 1/4 t peppermint filing into each indentation. Press dough around filling and seal. Reroll into a ball shape.
6. Place 1 in apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in 325 oven 15 min. or till edges are firm, not brown. Transfer to wire rack. Cool 5 min.
7. Roll warm cookies in remaining crushed candy mixture. Cool completely. Roll cookies again in candy mixture before serving.
