Ingredients

  • Crust:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 6 tablespoons water (cold)
  • 3/4 cups organic palm oil shortening
  • Filling
  • 6 tart apples–medium sized–(I used granny smith)
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries–unthawed
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons flour
  • 2/3 cups sugar (scant–I use organic)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Crust
Cut shortening into flour till it resembles coarse crumbs. Add water. Shape into two balls. Roll out for crust.

Filling
Slice apples. Add rest of ingredients and mix with apples. Bake in 400 degree F oven about 50 minutes or until done.
I always liberally sprinkle sugar over the top crust before baking
