- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cups white sugar
- 4 squares (4 ounces) unsweetened baking chocolate
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1 (9-inch)shell, baked

Step 1
1. In the to of a double boiler, heat the chocolate, stirring
occasionally, until chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove from heat
and cool to lukewarm.
2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until pale yellow and
fluffy. Blend in the melted chocolate and vanilla.
3. With an electric mixer on medium speed, beat in the eggs, one at a
time for 5 minutes each. (If you don't, the batter could be grainy.
Pour into baked pie shell. refrigerate 4 hours before serving
