Best Baked Beans

This is a favorite recipe from Jim's Sister, Margie. It uses canned pork and beans and is delicious!

Ingredients
- 1 large (approx 53 oz) can of pork and beans
- 1/2 tsp liquid smoke
- 1/4 C catsup
- 2 TBS molasses
- 2 TBS brown sugar
- 2 TBS bacon drippings
- 1/2 minced onion
- Salt to taste
- 3 drops hot pepper sauce or red pepper
- 1 TBS dry mustard
- Bacon strips (for covering top)

Preparation
Step 1
Combine all ingredients, except bacon, in a large mixing bowl. Make sure all ingredients and spices are blended well.
Grease or use vegetable oil spray, in a baking dish. Add the mixture and cover the top with strips of bacon.
Bake in a 350 deg. oven for approx. 45 minutes and until bacon is fully cooked (not necessarily crisp).
Options: Substitute sausage, frankfurters or salt pork for bacon. OR use none; just the beans.
