Ingredients
- For 4 recipes:
- 1 lg. orange
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 egg
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. cranberries, chopped
- 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 baking soda
- 4 oranges, enough water to make 3 cups. 8 Tbsp butter.
- 4 eggs + 4 c. sugar
- 4 c. cranberries and 2 c. walnuts
- 8 c. flour, 2 tsp. baking soda and 2 tsp. salt.

Preparation
Step 1
Butter a loaf pan. Heat oven to 325. Grate rind from orange, and squeeze juice from it. Add enough boiling water to juice to make 3/4 c. liquid. Add grated peel. Add 2 Tbsp butter and stir to melt butter.
In another bowl, beat egg and 1 c. sugar well. Add cranberries and walnuts.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt, stir into mixture and spoon into prepared pan. Let stand 20 minutes before cooking. Bake 1 hour at 325.
