Ingredients

  • Cake:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 5 ounces miniature marshmallows
  • Frosting:
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 pound powdered sugar

Preparation

Step 1

Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and beat well. Sift flour and cocoa and add to mixture. Mix well; add vanilla and pecans. Pour into greased and floured loaf or sheet pan. Bake 35 minutes at 300 degrees. Remove from oven and put marshmallows on top. Return to oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool for 1 hour before frosting.

For frosting, melt butter in sauce pan and add remaining ingredients and stir until smooth. Pour over cake and smooth over cake. Additional chopped nuts may be sprinkled over the cake.
