  • 1 1/4 cups butter
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Red and green food coloring

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
Add flour and continue to stir until blended. Stir in peppermint extract.
Divide dough in half and place in separate bowls. Tint one bowl of dough with red food coloring and the other with green food coloring.
Roll dough into balls using 1/2 teaspoon dough per ball.
For each wreath cookie, join 6 balls of dough in a circular shape, on cookie sheet, alternating colors. Press balls together securely.
Bake for 8 minutes. Allow to cool on baking sheet for about 8-10 minutes before removing.
