  • 1 3/4 C sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 C flour
  • 2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 C vegetable shortening
  • 2 large eggs



Step 1

1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Combine ¼ cup sugar and the cinnamon in a shallow dish and set aside. Whisk the flour, cream of tatar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl and set aside.

2. In a large bowl with electric mixer, beat the butter, shortening, and remaining sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat until combined. Reduce speed to low and slowly blend in dry ingredients until just combined.

2. Roll 2 tablespoons of dough into balls and roll in cinnamon and sugar. Place on cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake 10-12 minutes.
