Orange Cookies

Ingredients

• Orange Frosting:
• 2/3 cup shortening
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1 egg, beaten
• 1/2 cup orange juice
• 2 cups flour
• 1/2 tsp. baking powder
• 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 2 tbsp. butter, softened
• 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
• 1 1/2 to 2 tbsp. orange juice
• Combine all ingredients; beat until smooth.

Preparation

Step 1

Mix together shortening, sugar and egg until well blended; stir in orange juice. In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Gradually add to shortening mixture. Drop by teaspoonful onto a ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 - 10 minutes.
Cool and frost with Orange Frosting.
